Membaca artikel di bawah, saya jadi mikir-mikir: orang-orang yg sudah pernah investasi di hedge fund saja bilang kalau hedge fund itu sulit dimengerti. Apalagi untuk yang belum pernah berkaitan sama sekali. Hmm… kira-kira tulisan-tulisan saya di sini bisa dimengerti gak yah?

Take it from the wealthy: A good hedge fund is hard to find. That’s the assessment of more than three-quarters of those polled who have investable assets of more than $5 million, according to U.S. Trust’s 2007 Survey of Affluent Americans. More than half of the well-heeled (55%) say hedge funds are very good at delivering a healthy return on investments, while 51% view hedge funds as a way of reducing portfolio risk. The poll found, however, that 77% of respondents claim it’s difficult to investigate hedge funds, while 76% say it’s just plain hard to identify a good one. “The findings reveal that there is still a limited understanding of hedge funds and other sophisticated products, even among Americans wealthiest households,” said Frances Aldrich Sevilla-Sacasa, president of CEO of U.S. Trust. “More important, they also highlight the need for continued investor education around alternative investment vehicles and the importance of having unbiased advice.” The study also found that the ultra wealthy – those with at least $25 million in investable assets – allocate three times as much of their portfolio to hedge funds than their poorer, merely rich peers: 6% vs. 2%. In more general results, 45% of respondents said their portfolios performance met their expectations, while 40% said it exceeded their goals. More than eight out of 10 (84%) responded that their personal wealth came from their own hard work.
